Do blog URLs matter?

I don’t know. It just crossed my mind when signing up for this Scribbles blog.

Unlike, for instance, micro.blog where your default blog URL is comprised of your own chosen name, a Scribbles blog URL is provided in the form of a meaningless sequence of eight characters.

Initially my reaction was ‘Oh’. But then I thought ‘What does it matter?’ I only ever visit sites and blogs via links so why does it matter that where I end up has a meaningful/ readable URL?

Again, I don’t know. Just thinking out loud.
