When all this settles, what remains is a life lived in the ordinary way but without the metaphysical overhead. The self functions as a means of coordination, not identity. Pain, thought, desire, and memory still arise, but they’re seen as movements within the field. The question “Who is this happening to?” no longer needs an answer.
